I am very proud to be the Executive Headteacher of Christ Church CE; Lark Hill and Lewis Street Primary Schools in Salford.
Christ Church CE Primary School first opened its doors in 1860 and is the oldest school in Salford. We have been educating the children of Patricroft for over 160 years and we believe that accountability and trust through ‘partnership’ provides better opportunities for all children through school to school support and challenge.
At the heart of our provision is our mantra ‘love, learn, discover’. We believe that a child needs the right conditions for learning to develop a love of learning. We believe that a child who develops a love of learning is more likely to make progress and carry these skills forward through life. We are proud of our achievements and in particular, achieving the Nurture UK National Award in 2019.
Alongside ‘nurture’, the foundations of Christ Church CE Primary School are our 5 Christian Values:
Compassion, Respect, Care, Love and Forgiveness.
All our children are encouraged to try their best; take responsibility for their own actions; have a go at everything and aim to succeed. Our vision statement and ethos have been developed by the whole school community and as such children have a say in what goes on in our school showing our school values of Excellence; Respect; Challenge and Self-belief.
We are committed to developing our children academically, physically, emotionally and socially, giving them the very best experiences of learning, with lots of trips (including residential), visitors and an innovative curriculum that seeks to develop knowledge and is relevant to life in the 21st Century. We believe that children will be better equipped for life beyond school if they are more globally aware.
We also believe that we can only achieve the best for our children through developing a close relationship between home and school. There are many opportunities for parents to find out about and to share in the education of their children particularly through our learning platform – SEESAW.
We have an outstanding staff team who are passionate about the learning and well- being of children in their care. We believe that all children can succeed. We have a strong inclusion team to support children and families including those with SEND.
I hope that you find this information useful, but it can only give you a glimpse of our work. I am always happy to meet and speak with parents and carers personally and guarantee that a warm welcome will always await you!
