Busy week of sport!

We've had a busy week of festivals and events this week at school.

Our Year 6 girls represented our school at the Salford Girls Cricket Finals at Worsley Cricket Club. The girls played really well against some really tough teams and represented us fantastically. Unfortunately, we missed out on the semi finals as despite having the same amount of points, we'd scored fewer runs.

Our Year 6 athletics team represented us at the Salford City Academy Quadkids Athletics competition. The children participated in a 600m run, a 75m race, a javelin throw and a standing long jump. We are yet to receive the results as the event takes place over several sessions but they demonstrated all of our school values, in particular excellence and respect!

Finally, we took a group of Year 5 pupils to Eccles Rugby club to take part in the first ever Salford JagTag festival. This event was ran by the NFL team, Jacksonville Jaguars!!! Our children learned the rules of American Football and the techniques involved and even had some matches at the end against other schools. More than that though, they loved it!!!
